What does one wear to a fashion show?

(I apologise for the poor quality, didn't have time to get a snap with my camera!)

Dress, River Island
Jacket, Label Lab via House of Fraser
Belt, Asos
Sandals, Office

Oh my Lord, I'm actually writing a blog post... What is this?! Yes, that's right, I've finished college forever! No more exams, no more boring lessons which I'm not interested in at all. University of Sunderland here I come!
Speaking of Uni, my boyfriends sister studies Fashion Design at Sheffield Hallam University (check her website, here) and last night was their graduates fashion show, lucky me got to attend! My first fashion show, hopefully not my last! It was an amazing experience; I'll never understand how anyone can be so creative and talented...and I get to write about it all! So many exclamation marks, I hope this gets my feelings across, eep.
Naturally, I had no bloody idea what to wear for the event, so while shopping in Meadowhall I picked up a whole new outfit - it had to be done - and for a good cause apparently. While exiting the fashion show I was stopped and asked if I could have my photo taken for the 'street style' section in a local magazine...I was thrilled; I love having my outfits noticed and appreciated, especially as fashion is something I absolutely adore. My life wouldn't serve a purpose without it! SO, if you're in Sheffield next month and pick up a local magazine (can't remember the name of it, oops) you might be seeing me!
Moving on.  I spied this beautiful galaxy print jacket (kimono?) in House of Fraser in the sale reduced from £69 and just had to have it. Some of the people I follow on Instagram have similar ones and I've been lusting after one for ages. Couldn't believe my luck! I can never seem to find the exact garment I'm looking for at the time, go me! The fact it was reduced was just fate, obviously. Next problem; finding something for it to go with! I figured something plain would be best, I didn't want to take away from the print, don't you just love it?! So when I saw this midi dress I thought it would compliment the jacket perfectly! Also, the dress isn't skin tight which I love - we're not all skinny skinny. However, it was a little loose, so I nipped it in at the waist with my favourite Asos belt; adding a little sparkle to the look.  To finish, I thought sandals would be best as I didn't want to look too done up. Turns out I probably could have gotten away with heels, but flats are so much comfier...and go better with the boho kind of look I've created. P.s pick up a pair of these Office sandals if you need a new pair; so so comfy!xo
